What’s the difference …… and why it matters.
Gaynor Minden pointe shoes are said to last three to six times longer than traditionally made pointe shoes.
If you have not been fitted with Gaynor Minden pointe shoes we suggest that you do have a professional in-store pointe fitting at Dance Desire.
To coincide with the new Gaynor Minden sizing we have converted all of our shoes with the previous coding over to the new coding.
Ribbons sold separately.
If your sizing or style is not listed here please contact us.
How to read the code:
Fit – Shoe size – Width – Box size – Shank strength – Vamp – Heel
Example: (see tab for full explanation)
CL-6.5-M-4-H-D-L (classic fit – 6.5 – medium width – 4 box – hard shank – deep vamp – low heel)
Please Note: Pointe shoes should be professionally fitted. Only order if you are certain of your exact style, size and width of shoe.

|Our original “U”-shaped foot: the metatarsal, midfood, and heel are generously cut.||For a somewhat tapered, “waisted” foot: cut with an ample metatarsal, a snug midfoot, and a narrow-medium heel.||For a tapered “V”-shaped foot: cut with a slim metatarsal and a truly narrow midfoot and heel.|
